Block & Company brings new hotel to Plaza at the Speedway development in Kansas City, KS

Block & Company, Inc., Realtors recently sold a 2.71 acre pad site at the Plaza at the Speedway development in Kansas City, Kansas to Baywood Hotels, Inc. The pad site, which is Phase V of the development, is located at 10922 Parallel Parkway will be home to a Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel. David M. Block, Alex Block, and Max Kosoglad of Block & Company, Inc., Realtors represented the seller Plaza Speedway Development, Inc. in the transaction.

The Plaza at the Speedway is an 850,000 square foot retail power shopping center located at I-435 & Parallel Parkway in western Kansas City, Kansas. Other Plaza at the Speedway tenants include Walmart Supercenter, Sam's Club, Kohl's, Taco Bell, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Chick-fil-A, Jack in the Box, Wendy's, Logan's Roadhouse, and many others.

The Plaza at the Speedway development is located in the epicenter of a major tourism district surrounded by numerous attractions such as the NASCAR Kansas Speedway, Kansas City T-Bones Baseball Park, Cabela's, Nebraska Furniture Mart, The Legends Kansas City Outlets, Hollywood Casino, The Great Wolf Lodge, Schlitterbahn Vacation Village, Sporting Park Soccer Stadium, and the new 600,000 sf office campus is home to a major expansion of Kansas City's Cerner Corporation and 4,000 new employees. The multi-state pull of these dynamic retail and entertainment concepts attracts more than 14 million visitors annually from as far as 250 miles away.
