Anthony "Tony" J. DeTommaso joined Block & Company, Inc., Realtors in 1996. Tony's focus and expertise is development, leasing, tenant representation and investment sales.

A 1974 graduate of Emporia Kansas State University, Tony majored in sociology with a minor in psychology and physical education. He is a member of the Metropolitan Kansas City Board of Realtors, the Missouri Association of Realtors (MAR), National Association of Realtors (NAR), and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Tony comes to Block & Company with over 20 years of executive experience in retail sales, management and ownership. Before joining Block, Tony resided in Chicago and was president and owner of multiple retail businesses. The various concept stores were as large as 15,000 square feet (housewares) and as small as 1,500 square feet (women's high fashion designer apparel). Tony was involved in every aspect of the business including marketing, accounting store design, build-out and buying inventory.

Tony works primarily in the retail/restaurant and office segments of commercial real estate. He represents landlords and has negotiated leases for over 750,000 square feet of space. Tony also specializes in tenant representation and has been very successful working with various local companies, franchisees and national companies such as: Bank of America, Kmart, Radio Shack, Dairy Queen, Footlocker, Hardee's, Hallmark Cards, Atlanta Bread, Family Video, Waffle House, Best Buy, Meineke Car Care Center, Organization Plus, etc.

Tony is also a shopping center developer and at the same time continues his relationships with other developers as a site selector and represents them on land acquisitions for big box tenants.

He has closed over $60M in land sales in which Home Depot, Target and other large retailers were involved. Tony also represents buyers and sellers in investment sales. He has closed on a total of approximately $250M of investment property.

Tony DeTommaso resides in Roeland Park, Kansas with his wife, Doreen, and daughter Madeleine.

Tony is actively involved in several charities such as MS, Hope House, ALS, NICU, Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, Emilie Rosebud Diabetes Research Foundation, Operation Breakthrough, Lithuanian Community Children's School and The Wounded Warrior Project.
