Block & Company, Inc., Realtors gifts space for new Children's Mercy proctored learning site in Leawood, KS

Children's Mercy has partnered with the YMCA of Greater Kansas City and Block & Company, Inc., Realtors to open a proctored learning site for their employees with children in grades K-8. The learning site opened on Monday, Dec. 14, 2020 and is located in Block's Village of Seville shopping center at 13124 State Line Road in Leawood, a few miles south of I-435.

This is a unique partnership showcasing the strength of the Kansas City community rallying together in times of need. This resource is allowing Children's Mercy employees to focus on delivering the best care possible to children in our region and beyond. The site can accommodate a daily maximum of 70 children and priority will be given to Children's Mercy employees who work on-site in direct patient care.

"Our greatest strength at Children's Mercy is our people. We strive to make our employee's lives and jobs easier. COVID-19 has been an unthinkable and unimaginable time for all of us. We wanted to assist our employees by providing another resource for them and their children during this time. We are thankful to have partnered with the YMCA of Greater Kansas City to provide this resource for our employees. I thank John Mikos and Steve Scraggs, along with all the YMCA staff, for working so hard with our staff here at Children's Mercy to make this resource a reality," said Jodi Coombs, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Office at Children's Mercy.



Block & Company, Inc., Realtors donated the 14,000 square foot space to Children's Mercy and YMCA. David M. Block, President of Block & Company was crucial in bringing the deal together.
