On February 1, 2017, Block & Company, Inc., Realtors - representing the property owners - sold 1.59 acres in the Plaza at the Speedway shopping center located at I-435 & Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas. The land was purchased by an undisclosed buyer and will be used to build a 16,400 square foot new medical facility. The new site will sit between Taco Bell and Wendy's on Parallel Parkway.
David M. Block and Alex Block of Block & Company, Inc., Realtors negotiated the sale transaction on behalf of the seller and Cary Fox and Bill Shakelford of AREA Real Estate Advisors negotiated the transaction of behalf of the buyer.
The Plaza at the Speedway is an 850,000 square foot retail power shopping center located at I-435 & Parallel Parkway in western Kansas City, Kansas. Other Plaza at the Speedway tenants include Walmart Supercenter, Sam's Club, Kohl's, Taco Bell, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Chick-fil-A, Jack in the Box, Wendy's, Logan's Roadhouse, and many others
The Plaza at the Speedway development is located in the epicenter of a major tourism district surrounded by numerous attractions such as the NASCAR Kansas Speedway, Kansas City T-Bones Baseball Park, Cabela's, Nebraska Furniture Mart, The Legends Kansas City Outlets, Hollywood Casino, The Great Wolf Lodge, Schlitterbahn Vacation Village, Sporting Park Soccer Stadium, and the new 600,000 sf office campus is home to a major expansion of Kansas City's Cerner Corporation and 4,000 new employees.
