Letter from President David M. Block

The second quarter of 2024 has been a very exciting time for Block & Company. The selling and leasing of existing buildings continues to be one of the most active segments in commercial real estate. The decreasing inventory of existing brick & mortar property throughout Greater Kansas City is driving up both sale prices and lease rates, and increasing interest rates and construction costs is limiting the amount of new commercial property being constructed apart from some apartment and large industrial projects. Block & Company has seen this time as an opportunity to acquire existing property and purchase vacant land at a reasonable price while many other investors have been sitting on the sidelines waiting for interest rates to decrease.

Over the years Block & Company has engaged in many fun corporate activities and this quarter, our newly established Block Event Committee planned some exciting team building events for us, including a Scavenger Hunt and a Cornhole Tournament. I want to thank everyone on the committee and all of the employees and agents for their participation. I have personally really enjoyed participating and I know everyone else has as well. We are looking forward to what the event committee has in store for the future.

Everyone at Block & Company, Inc., Realtors feels very passionate about giving back to the community. Over the years we have been proud and honored to be involved with numerous local and national charities, some of which you will find highlighted in our quarterly newsletters. I would like to recognize our employees and agents for their charitable contributions this quarter and thank our very valued clients and friends who have continued to support many of the charities we hold dear.

In closing, 2024 has been a very good year so far and the future is looking bright. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication this quarter, I appreciate all you do.
