Letter from President David M. BlockKansas City is the place to be in 2024, what an exciting time to be living in our marketplace! Our sports teams; the Chiefs, Royals, Monarchs, KC Current and Sporting KC have really put our city in the national spotlight, and therefore in a much larger market for investors. Investors from all over the country are now looking to Kansas City to develop and invest. Block & Company has seen a surge of activity from these national clients, thanks in large part to the success and popularity of Kansas City's sports teams and the "Taylor Effect".
With interest rates continuing to drop, we are also seeing increased activity on the acquisition side from local investors. Due to the limited amount of construction over the past few years, the selling and leasing of existing properties is occurring at a significantly higher rate than previous years. We expect this to continue through the remainder of 2024 and I want to congratulate our brokerage and property management teams for keeping up with this increased activity.
