Taco Bell to open at Plaza at the Speedway
March 26, 2010
Block & Company, Inc., Realtors is proud to announce that Taco Bell will be the first of many restaurants under construction to open at the Plaza at the Speedway. The 2,880 square foot freestanding restaurant is scheduled to open on April 7th and will be a great addition to the new 850,000 square foot retail power shopping center located at I-435 & Parallel Parkway in western Kansas City, Kansas. Taco Bell will join the recently opened 184,000 square foot "environmentally green" Walmart Supercenter, a 45,000 square foot Best Buy electronics store.
At a time when construction projects in Kansas City are few and far between, the Plaza at the Speedway development seems to be a positive exception in the marketplace with construction currently under way on the centers newest tenants including a major clothier, Olive Garden, and Red Lobster.
The Plaza at the Speedway development is located in the epicenter of a major tourism district surrounded by numerous attractions such as the NASCAR Kansas Speedway, Kansas City T-Bones Baseball Park, CabelaÕs, Nebraska Furniture Mart, The Legends Lifestyle Shopping Center, The Great Wolf Lodge, and Schlitterbahn Vacation Village. The multi-state pull of these dynamic retail and entertainment concepts attracts more than 14 million visitors annually from as far as 250 miles away.
According to David M. Block, anchor, junior anchors, pad sites, and small shop space is still available for lease. David M. Block and Becky Goodman of Block & Company, Inc., Realtors are the leasing/development agents and construction managers for the Plaza at the Speedway and were the brokers involved in the Taco Bell lease.
