Block & Company brings Whataburger to Blue Springs, MO, groundbreaking ceremony held to officially kick off construction

Block & Company, Inc., Realtors is excited to announce the long term lease of a new Whataburger restaurant location at 905 NW MO-7 Highway in Blue Springs, Missouri. David M. Block and Phil Peck, CCIM of the firm, represented the property ownership group in the lease transaction.
Formerly an iconic Winstead's location at the intersection of Interstate 70 and MO-7 Highway, this location was one of the first initial locations Whataburger planned to open in the metro area after announcing their entry into the Kansas City market.
"David and I were excited about the opportunity to work closely with Whataburger and the City of Blue Springs on a number of challenging issues related to several required offsite improvements that allowed us to secure the deal", Vice President of Block & Company Phil Peck, CCIM stated.
The popular Texas-based fast food chain plans to completely redevelop the site and replace the existing structure with Whataburger's freestanding drive-thru prototype. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer and they're projecting the restaurant will be open for business by the end of 2021.
Block & Company will continue to handle the property management of the 51,143 square foot property.
