Formerly an iconic Winstead's location at the intersection of Interstate 70 and MO-7 Highway, this location was one of the first initial locations Whataburger planned to open in the metro area after announcing their entry into the Kansas City market.
"David and I were excited about the opportunity to work closely with Whataburger and the City of Blue Springs on a number of challenging issues related to several required offsite improvements that allowed us to secure the deal", Vice President of Block & Company Phil Peck, CCIM stated.
The popular Texas-based fast food chain plans to completely redevelop the site and replace the existing structure with Whataburger's freestanding drive-thru prototype. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer and they're projecting the restaurant will be open for business by the end of 2021.
Block & Company will continue to handle the property management of the 51,143 square foot property.
David M. Block, President of Block & Company, Inc., Realtors said he is excited to remain closely involved with Whataburger in completing their Blue Springs location and appreciates the City of Blue Springs for their assistance in fast tracking this project.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 24th and was an exciting celebration to kick off the construction of their brand new location. Watch video of the Whataburger groundbreaking ceremony in Blue Springs:
