Block & Company, Inc., Realtors sells Plaza at the Speedway's Former Best Buy to Planet Fitness

Block & Company, Inc., Realtors recently sold the former Best Buy building located at 10500 Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas. The 46,538 square-foot freestanding building sits on 4.22 acres in the 850,000 square-foot Plaza at the Speedway Shopping Center and is strategically located on the northwest corner of I-435 & Parallel Parkway in front of Sam's Club.
Planet Fitness plans to utilize approximately 25,000 square-feet of the former Best Buy building with remaining space available for lease. Construction is said to begin immediately.
Plaza at the Speedway is located in a major tourism district that draws over 22 million visitors annually from as far as 250 miles away. This new location offers outstanding visibility to more than 2 million square-feet of retail and entertainment space built and planned on this corner.
Nearby attractions include Kansas Speedway, Cabela's, Great Wolf Lodge, Nebraska Furniture Mart, Legends Kansas City Outlets, KC Monarchs Baseball Stadium, Children's Mercy Park Soccer Stadium, and more. Nearby tenants include Taco Bell, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Chick-fil-A, Jack in the Box, Wendy's, and more.
Nearby development offers new tenants and attractions, including Buc-ee's, Margaritaville Hotel, American Royal, and HomeField.
Block & Company, Inc., Realtors headed the shopping center investment group that initially developed the Plaza at the Speedway, which included the Best Buy building. The building was sold to a national company and was then repurchased in 2020 by a Block & Company, Inc., Realtors headed investment group, the seller in this transaction.
