Letter from President David M. Block
2026 is certainly shaping up to be an exciting and memorable year for Kansas City, and Block & Company has experienced its share of increased business thanks to our city's visibility on the world stage.

The FIFA World Cup has brought a number of national companies to Kansas City for two important reasons. First, to enjoy the incredible experience of the World Cup here in the United States—and right here in our hometown. Second, to introduce business leaders and executives to the tremendous opportunities that exist throughout the Kansas City marketplace.

This has been an exceptionally busy year for the commercial real estate industry, and we're excited about the opportunities we're seeing as a result of the World Cup, as well as the continued success of our professional sports teams. The Chiefs, Royals, Sporting Kansas City, the Current, and our other outstanding organizations continue to elevate Kansas City's profile, and that visibility is creating new opportunities for our business and our clients.

Sales and leasing activity have remained strong, and our agents and employees are reaping the benefits of increased business through the continued leasing and sale of existing properties. While new construction remains somewhat limited due to higher interest rates and construction costs, demand for quality commercial real estate continues to be healthy.

The first half of the year has certainly been exciting, and I fully expect the second half of 2026 to continue that momentum. I also want to sincerely thank all of our employees for your continued dedication—not only to our clients, but also to the many organizations we proudly support throughout the Greater Kansas City community. Our partnerships with UMKC, the NAIA, Children's Mercy, KU, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and many other charitable and educational organizations remain as strong as ever. We are committed to strengthening those relationships because they represent many of the institutions that make Kansas City such a remarkable place to live, work, innovate, and grow.
