Lee's Summit Police Department Satellite Office coming to Summit Fair Shopping Center

New partnership strengthens public safety, supports local businesses, and enhances community engagement at one of Lee's Summit's premier retail destinations.

LEE'S SUMMIT, MISSOURI—Block & Company, Inc., Realtors, a Kansas City-based commercial real estate firm, is pleased to announce the upcoming opening of a Lee's Summit Police Department Satellite Office at Summit Fair Lifestyle Center in Lee's Summit, Missouri. The new office represents a collaborative partnership between the City of Lee's Summit, the Lee's Summit Police Department, and Summit Fair property ownership to enhance public safety, strengthen relationships with local businesses, and support ongoing efforts to address organized retail crime.

At its September 22 meeting, the Lee's Summit City Council approved an agreement allowing the Police Department to operate an approximately 500-square-foot "substation" or satellite office at - Summit Fair. Through the partnership with Summit Fair property ownership, the space will be provided to the City at no rental cost.

The Satellite Office is anticipated to open during the first week of November and will provide officers with a centrally located workspace within one of the city's major retail destinations.

By reducing travel time and establishing a consistent presence within the retail district, the office will allow officers to remain more visible and accessible to retailers, shoppers, and the surrounding community.

The initiative builds upon the Police Department's existing relationships with Lee's Summit's retail community. Local businesses and loss-prevention teams regularly collaborate with officers to share information, identify criminal activity, recognize emerging patterns, and respond to incidents affecting retailers and customers.

Addressing organized retail crime has been identified as a priority by the Lee's Summit City Council. The new satellite office represents an important step in advancing that initiative through targeted enforcement, information sharing, and strengthened partnerships between law enforcement and local businesses. Because PD hours at the site will vary, the location will not serve as a place for the public to file police reports. Residents who need to file a report in person are encouraged to visit the Lee's Summit Police Department, 10 NE Tudor Road, or the Police South Substation, 3650 SW Windemere Drive.

Summit Fair Lifestyle Center, strategically located at the intersection of Interstate 470 and U.S. Highway 50 near Chipman Road, is a premier retail and lifestyle destination encompassing approximately 510,000 square feet. The shopping center offers a diverse mix of national, regional, and local retailers, restaurants, fitness facilities, healthcare providers, and specialty services.

Featured tenants include Dick's Sporting Goods, H&M, lululemon, Sephora, Victoria's Secret, Made in KC Marketplace, Orangetheory, Pure Barre, Chick-fil-A, Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW), and McAlister's Deli. JCPenney and Missouri Furniture Mart are also located at the center.

As Lee's Summit continues to grow as a destination for residents, businesses, and visitors throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area, the addition of the Police Department Satellite Office further reinforces Summit Fair's role as a community-focused destination.
